How does it work?

There are two methods accepted universally as one of the first steps recommended to reduce electricity costs and improve energy efficiency:

1 - Powerx the first method is Power Factor Correction (PFC): this method is recommended for commercial and industrial applications such as factories, industrial plants, offices, hotels, hospitals, supermarkets, water treatment, cold chambers just to name but a few. It works by correcting an inefficient electrical load or supply using microprocessor controlled monitoring that regulates and improves the power factor by automatically switching dedicated high quality capacitors in to circuit to counteract the effects of an inductive load which is produced by all motors, pumps, air conditioning systems, refrigeration and general plant & machinery that use motors in their operation.

2 - Optimax the second and complementary method is Voltage Optimisation; this technique is recommended for domestic and residential applications as well as some commercial use mainly in 240 volts regions. It regulates the voltage and ensures the correct voltage is applied at all times which both saves energy and prolongs the lifespan of electrical equipment and lighting. Power Factor Correction and Voltage Optimisation are complementary techniques and can be used in conjunction to further reduce costs and save energy.

What is Power Factor Correction?

Power factor correction plays a key role in increasing the efficiency of electrical equipment by reducing the wasted electricity. Power factor can be regarded as a measure of “efficiency” and has values ranging from 0 to 1, where 1 is 100% efficient. Power factor correction equipment Powerx improves this “efficiency” so that less electrical current is needed to achieve the same result saving up to 25%.

What is Voltage Optimisation?

Voltage levels provided by electricity suppliers in 240 volts regions fluctuate between 216v to 253v, above and under their nominal level at which all electrical equipment are typically designed to operate. Higher voltages are commonly the cause of higher energy costs through inefficient operation of electrical devices leading to increased losses and energy waste. A well designed Voltage Optimiser Optimax deals with these voltage variations to deliver an optimized pure sinusoidal voltage of around 220 volts, the optimum level at which electrical equipment will function efficiently. This method is recommended primarily for domestic, residential and some commercial applications.

How Much Can You Save?

Once the system is installed the wasted electricity is reduced immediately and the average savings of up to 25% can be achieved.

Installation is simple and rather fast and should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
